Secondary aids

I am very grateful because I can announce new projects!!!!!

Would you like to make progress in lunging and then take your new experiences into the saddle? I am currently creating some videos for you so that you can try out these exercises at home at any time. In these videos we teach the first steps in using the secondary aids (the primary aid would be the seat). Through ground work and lunging, I can recognise very well whether my horse has understood my aids, e.g. the movement of the horse's shoulder or hip from inside to outside and from outside to inside with my finely developed secondary aids. When I feel confident in the first steps and my horse responds well to changes in speed and direction within a gait, while remaining relaxed (which is the most important thing), it is time to influence the physical shape without changing the speed.

How does this help us? If we can influence rhythm, speed and physical form separately with secondary aids, this will later develop into fine riding primarily through the seat, and secondarily through fine aids, which will always bring the horse back into the seat. - Being able to guide the horse primarily with our seat is an extraordinary feeling...

If you would like to attend the next workshop on lunging, reserve the Saturday 29 March 2025
